Luck?

Last week 20/20 did a show on Luck. They had many interesting insights. I especially liked the study that showed that optimistic people were more likely to find the $20 bill on the street than pessimistic people. I related the story to my son in NYC this morning.

He has been having a difficult time with money lately. Anything that could go wrong has, it seems. He had a windfall... an unexpected check arrived when he could really use it! Great, right? Well it would have been, but then it got lost in the mail between Michigan and NYC. The windfall turned into a huge source of aggravation for him.

I told him he should try to visualize things going right. Or seeing himself happy, at least. With all his negativity he was headed for a heart attack before he was thirty!

His check finally turned up, but the post office in Harlem was less than helpful. The local customer service rep in Michigan helped us verify that the letter was in the NY PO. So David stood his ground and insisted that the reluctant clerk, check for it. They found it and he was thrilled.

Then he went to his bank and they told him it would take 4 days to clear. He looked up the bank the check originated from and walked three miles to go there and get it cashed.

As he was walking back he called me and said he was feeling better... that he thought about it and realized that he is living his dream... he is in NYC... doing what he's always wanted to do... and what could be better than that?! As he was walking and talking to me he looked down for some reason and saw something on the ground... it was green... you guessed it... $20 lying on the sidewalk, no one else around... he picked it up. He said he considered it a sign. I do too!

There is nothing wrong with being optimistic! If I have to see a glass half empty or half full, I'll pick half full every time! While the volume of liquid remains the same, the volume of my happiness and the quality of my life is greater as an optimist... and that (as they say in the Mastercard commercials)... is PRICELESS!

A Time of Growth

I have been having what I'll call "growing pains" for a lack of a better description. There have been, and continue to be challenges cropping up for me, but I am choosing to face them head on.

These challenges make me only more aware that my perception is my reality. Likewise, other people have their own perceptions of reality.

I am finding and learning my truth. Sometimes it is like we all have different sunglasses on so we see things a bit differently. I remember this in an advanced writing class. Four of us, all good friends swapped term papers on the same article in Atlantic Monthly. We each had written the paper according to our own truth, from our own angle. It was amazing to see how we could be good friends, with somewhat similar lives and yet have such different views!

I am reminded of this experience now as I write some copy for a friend's business web site, brochures and the such. My friend is a excellent writer... sometimes it hurts to change her words, because they are put together so beautifully. However, the slant is academic. Beautiful but still academic. She needs something that will sell and that is where I come into the picture.

Sometimes we all need an editor like this in life to help us see the events of our lives in a different light. The events are there, but if we can look at them from another angle, we can get a different picture of reality and a better understanding of our life.

We Create Our Own Reality

Reality

Reality is what we take to be true.

What we take to be true is what we believe.

What we believe is based upon our perceptions.

What we perceive depends upon what we look for.

What we look for depends upon what we think.

What we think depends upon what we perceive.

What we perceive determines what we believe.

What we believe determines what we take to be true.

What we take to be true is our reality.

Miracles Happen!

I was just rereading some of my posts from April. I said it would be a miracle if David could stay in NYC after his 2nd semester of school at AMDA was over. There was so much for him to get in order: a job, an apartment, moving his stuff, working on his school work at AMDA... but he now has an apartment rented, and a job... the next step will be to audition like crazy over the summer and land a role somewhere(Broadway would be nice!) Go David! Go David!

Infinite Possibilities

This is a shameless plug for the CD set by Mike Dooley. It is an astonishing 12CD set --12 HOURS of Mike Dooley's wit, wisdom, and "take" on the Universe and life in general. I'm listening to it in my car and loving it these wonderful summer-like days in Michigan! (Thanks to my great kids and hubby for the new HD Radio/CD Player!) I make no profit off plugging Mike's CD sets and I'm sure he doesn't need my help, anyways!... I just really think this is a great set of CD's to own! You will also see his "Notes from the Universe" at the bottom of my blog page here!

The Hudson Hotel NYC

The Hudson Hotel was great! We booked it on Hotwire and had no idea of what to expect! It is a beautiful "boutique" hotel --with no sign on the building which lends to a bit of mystery. The is an outdoor patio, library, and more! We found the accommodations to be comfortable, although the room was small -- after all it is Manhattan!

Central Park is beautiful! Saturday morning we strolled through and watched some Little League Baseball. I think every one in the city must own a dog! I have never seen so many dogs out for walks! The weather was beautiful and all of the trees had their leaves. I think if I lived in NYC I would explore a new neighborhood and walk as far as I could every weekend!

NYC

Before too much time gets away from me I want to post about last weekend. Our trip to NYC was wonderful!

First of all, I must confess that I went to NYC with some trepidation. From months of speaking to my son David, while he is walking to or from classes, I gathered that NY is a noisy place. Maybe even dangerous -- I always hear sirens! Expensive, high stress... I really was beginning to wonder why my son liked it so much!

Well... it was fabulous! I found it to be an over-the-top, crazy kind of town! A town of excesses; who ever heard of spending $36 for breakfast for two at a little diner(Brooklyn Diner)!! I mean the pancakes and eggs where good, but give me a break $36!? That's a fancy lunch for two in Michigan, maybe even dinner!

I also found it to be a town of grieving and rebirth -- ground zero -- was difficult to fathom for me, having never seen the magnificent buildings that once stood at that site. It just looked like a big construction site to me, and I had to remind myself of the terror I witnessed via CNN on that fateful 9/11 so many years ago. David had flown to NY less that a month later, his first trip there was two years earlier, when he was only 16, with an 18 year old friend.

It is a town of fit people and foot, leg and back pain... all from the enormous amount of walking involved! I hated to take the subway though... I mean it was great to have mass transit... but only being there for a short time I really hated to go underground and miss out on the smells, sights, and sounds, of the wonderful and diverse neighborhoods above. No sooner that my husband and I decided to stop for Chinese food in Chinatown for lunch we found our selves around a corner and in Little Italy! So Italian food became the order of the day! We finally succumbed to the subway after several more blocks, and back to the hotel for a nap!

We were fortunate to get into the David Letterman Show, and saw this great show for -- FREE! So even though the city is expensive; there are things to do for nothing! I am not a fan of tours and feel a personal sense of accomplishment by discovering and exploring on my own, even though any tour I've been on has been very good. I guess I'm cheap... but I also feel like I'm using Cliff notes, or a cheat sheet for a test! I just like to explore on my own more!

We had dinner with our son, David and his good friend Roy, at Ellen's Stardust Diner in Times Square. It was not exactly what we were expecting, but I found it to be a quaint little community, an oasis in the city, of aspiring talent and American food, seemingly stuck in the 1950's.

Now I understand why my son loves NYC! I do too! It is the center of the universe... but I think it is easier to take in small doses that to live there. But then again there could be worse places to live... Detroit (ahem!)

Credit Card Fraud?

Credit Card fraud is a serious problem, but my recent experience with my credit card company was actually pretty funny.

We have had problems twice in the past with this particular card. The first time a fraudulent charge appeared it was for a funeral home in a very bad part of town. I guess it slipped through undetected by our credit card company, it was for a couple of hundred dollars and might not appear suspicious to someone out side of our metro area. The second time a $5000+ charge appeared for steel... that's right steel! I know I always pick up a few thousand dollars worth of steel on the way home from work... don't you? On that occasion not one but two, similar suspicious purchases were on my bill. Whatever! We straightened it out and all was well.

Imagine my surprise when, on a recent trip to New York, our card was rejected, first at the ATM for a cash withdrawal close to home, and then at our hotel in New York. Upon calling the Credit Card company my husband was told that they had flagged the account for suspicious activity, because it was being used out of town. I had to laugh! Buying $5000 of industrial steel was not suspicious, but traveling to NYC and using the card at (of all places) a hotel was! (I later found out the ATM withdrawal was denied because we have never used the card that way before.) Fair enough... but the hotel being suspicious is just hilarious! As we were sitting in the lobby I overheard my husband saying to the person at the credit card call center, "I didn't know we had to tell you we were going on vacation." Oh yeah, you have to really watch those hotel charges, especially when they are in another town that people actually vacation in!

The Jetta Has New Shoes...

My little Jetta is very happy tonight with it's new tires! The old ones were very worn -- with good reason I guess... the warranty ran out about 5,000 miles ago. Regrettably I ended up at Belle Tire. Don't get me wrong... they did a good job putting the tires on. It's just that their trust factor is not very high in my opinion. But I really researched this purchase and they didn't talk me into the highest priced tires.

My friend and client Todd Gulich, of Liberty Tire, was a very valued adviser! I would have loved to purchase my tires from his shop but the Belle Tire is just a couple of miles from my house -- I could walk there if I had to... as opposed to the 20 mile hike to Todd's store. I do highly recommend Todd though, he is knowledgeable and honest. I never get the feeling that he's pushing me into a certain product so he can make more money. (Which is exactly the feeling I get when dealing with the folks at Belle!)

Today they informed me that NOW I will be needing struts to the tune of another $600.00! I took that recommendation with a huge grain of salt. The car drives well -- and even better than before now that it has new tires. I will keep an eye on the struts and get a second opinion before I do anything. I really like this little car... and I have sentimental attachments to it as well, since my Dad's car was the down payment on it after he passed away just over 5 years ago.

The last payment will be made next week! Woo Hoo! Now I just need to get a new radio/CD Player! I will go to Best Buy and get a nice one... maybe XM or HD even... but the main thing I need is the CD Player. I want to listen to my Infinite Possibilities CD's from Mike Dooley and no sooner than I got them, did I discover that the CD Player was dead!

One thing at a time... I'm hoping to get that fixed next month!

Turandot at the DOH

We were fortunate enough to be invited to MOT's dress rehearsal for Turandot this evening. It was delightful! If you are planning to see it you are in for a treat! I just love the beautiful aria in the 3rd act. Don't know opera? You've heard this aria, trust me, it's famous... in fact I think this is the one of the arias you hear in the 1981 movie Moonstruck, with Nick Cage and Cher.

We were invited tonight because, our son David, now 23, was in the children's chorus, for Michigan Opera Theatre, and tonight there was an alumni meeting. David is currently in NYC attending AMDA -- The American Musical & Dramatic Academy. We went to represent him and to say "Hi!" to Susanne Acton, The Children's Chorus Master, for him! It was good to see everyone there! They are working to expand the children's program, which is great, because many of the children that have been involved with MOT have gone on like David to study and pursue professional careers on Broadway or in Opera.

Nancy Florwokski, founder and director, of Motor City Youth Theatre was also there. Her daughter Jenny and David were in several operas together. Jenny is an AMDA alumni and has been in national tours with "42nd Street" and "Cats" and continues to perform professionally and pursue her acting career. It was Nancy's "Redford Youth Theatre" that first introduced David to acting... and he immediately fell in love with theatre! Nancy urged us to have him audition for MOT and between his experiences at MOT and RYT his love for theatre took off. He regularly begged us to move to NYC when he was growing up. Now he is there pursuing his dream and we are proud of him! He will be seeing Turnadot soon as well... at the Met! Oh to be a young theatre student in the Big Apple!

David is working hard to make his dreams come true! That he is in New York at all is a miracle. We didn't think he'd be able to come up with the funding, but he did... for one year. To stay in NYC will take another miracle, but David is confident that it will happen. I really think of the "Pursuit of Happyness" story when I think of David. He has that kind of determination -- and also seems to have The Law of Attraction working for him as well!

Step out of your comfort zone!

What "gifts" are you hiding? What treasures do you have hidden away deep inside you? Do you have talents that you are not using? Step up to the plate and share your treasures. Think how much better the world would be if everyone would do this!

Many neglect to share talents out of fear... fear of failure, fear of rejection, and just plain fear! I am here to tell you that it is good for you to step out of your comfort zone.

Risk a little! Live a little! Life is short and there is far more to be lost "playing it safe" than taking a risk and stepping up to the plate. The thing that finally got me to take action on this was the thought that I have this talent for a reason... and I not using it... I have a moral responsibility to use my all my talents for the common good... even if I'm afraid... even if I feel like I can't make a difference. Especially if I feel like I can't make a difference... because there is nothing more empowering than discovering that I can make a difference! You can too! Don't be afraid! Don't hide! It will be uncomfortable at first, but it will get easier. The rewards are great, for you and the Universe!

"Security is mostly a superstition."

Do you ever get the feeling the Universe is talking to you directly. After a wonderful day surrounded by good friends (Today was Spa Day at my house!) We went out with more good friends to our Stagecrafters Theatre... where we have a season subscription. Tonight's play was "The Miracle Worker" and while I was looking forward to seeing our friends I wasn't really thinking the play would be good.

Imagine my surprise when, after a day of watching "The Secret" and attending a coaching workshop on implementing desired changes in one's life... I saw "Security is mostly a superstition." on the screen on stage! How true is that! This is from a poem by Helen Keller. The whole poem follows:

Let Us Have Faith
(1940)

by Helen Keller
(1880 - 1968)

Security is mostly a superstition.
It does not exist in nature,
nor do the children of men as a whole experience it.
Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure.
Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.
To keep our faces toward change and
behave like free spirits
in the presence of fate is strength undefeatable.

Many of us have found ourselves in place in life where we just want to run and hide. Sometimes it's a bad work situation, or health problems, or a role that is put upon us by "fate" and we are left feeling like we have no control. We want to be "safe"... but the safety we envision is an illusion. In reality the only "safety" may be to charge full speed ahead right through the very thing that terrifies us. There is no safety!... so you might as well enjoy the ride... do what you would do if you knew you couldn't fail!

Second Day

I went to the Bikram Studio again today. I'm loving this! Yesterday I had a total wave on anxiety at one point. It gets VERY HOT... and I started to think... I wonder if anyone ever passes out... or gets sick.... not a good train of thought -BUT- just as my mind started to go that way the teacher addressed anxiety and said just to breathe through it, as if she could read my mind! I did (concentrate on my breathe) and I survived! Today the 90 minutes went much faster --really it didn't seem to last more than 89 minutes! HA! All joking aside I thought we had another half hour to go when class was done. What a great feeling! Not that I wanted it to last that much longer... I was thrilled that it was over ...but I feel great now! Can't wait for tomorrow's class!

90 Minutes - 26 Postures - 105 degree room

Can you say intense?! My first yoga class at the Bikram Studio in Farmington Hills really was! I love the classes at my first studio(Astarte yoga) and I love the yoga teacher (Katerina)... but it falls during the middle of the day and only once per week ( ok more if I go during my prime selling time -- but I really do need to be out selling)... The Bikram studio has classes at the end of the day and every class is the same... (that would be HOT and INTENSE) I think I will try this for a while at least and see how it goes long term.

Saturday, April 7, 2007

I have recently discovered yoga... and it is just the greatest! The current studio I'm attending has a wonderful yoga teacher... but the class is in the middle of the day and they just have a few classes I can attend (classes that are not more advanced) I have found another studio that I will try... I hope I will like it, because the classes are all for beginners and the times are great for me! It is Bikram Yoga and I am very anxious to try it! This past week as been very hectic and stressful... in that I have not been able to keep my regular schedule... next week should be much better!

"The Secret Day" Is On Its Way!

I will indeed be hosting a Spa day in the near future! I am looking forward to it. We will start with a Morning Coaching Session, followed by a light lunch and some pampering: Reflexology, Chair Massages, Reiki Energy Sessions, Clay Cleansing Masks and 2 Minute Makeovers. Then we will wrap up the day by viewing "The Secret." The day may be taken as a whole or in parts. I am looking forward to hosting this event because the principles and ideas examined are very powerful and have made a great difference in my life!

The Surprise!

Well, thank goodness that is over! Yesterday I threw a surprise birthday party for my better half! I actually pulled it off -- he was surprised! I didn't do it alone though, I had soooo much help from soooo many people! And the fact that he is so busy always helps, of course! Our house was buzzing yesterday with such great energy and such great friends and family!

Part of his surprise was also a surprise to me... David, our son attending AMDA in NYC, was able to get away for the weekend... so I flew him in on Friday and he stayed until this morning. We didn't book that flight until Monday (4 days before he was to fly in!) The weekend was too short! Even though I am happy that the hectic pace of the weekend is over, I am sad that I didn't have more time to spend with David before he had to fly out again!

I am so grateful for all of our wonderful friends who shared the afternoon with us... to make it a truly special day for Jeff! Michelle and Jordan (and Chase) and my wonderful Mom in Law, helped with the devious planning also - and it all turned out perfectly. A special thanks to Anjali, Raf, and Mr. & Mrs. Duncan as well for all that great inside contact info!

Last, but not least, a special thanks to the guest of honor, my hubby, Jeff... for going about his business and never stopping to wonder why I am acting strange... Hey... what do you mean I'm always acting strange?!?!! Life is good! =)

My First Yoga Class!

I've been interested in yoga since about 1966. It was on TV and looked interesting. Years later, in high school we would all play around in gym class and do the lotus pose (more or less). Now I am a first degree black belt in Korean Karate -- that's a lot of karate classes. I also took ballet when I was growing up -- for eight years. I've run, golfed, "body-for-lifed", kick boxed... overall I've been a pretty active person.... how is it, then that I have never taken a Yoga class.

I think I just never "saw myself there"... last week that changed. I went to my first class. In class I felt sad at one point; sad that I had waited so long. Now I was old and stiff, and with a few too many extra pounds. What I could have done when I was younger... shhh a voice inside said: you can do it now... you are here NOW.

And that is what I learned at my first yoga class. To be nicer and more gentle and accepting of myself... and others. I thought that I would be the only one in class with limitations... but I could actually do some things that others couldn't. We all have limitations, different strengths and weaknesses and it's all okay. I am...we are... not better, not worse, not to be judged in yoga or in life.

I couldn't push myself, because I seem to have some kind of injury, a possible hernia or groin pull of some kind... so I had to take it easy... which made me feel even older. But it was okay, the class was good, and for just "laying around on the floor," stretching and relaxing it was quite a workout.

Some Great Tools to Use!

As I've been studying the Law of Attraction I've come across some very useful tools! These tools can help you get "unstuck", keep you focused on your goals, and help you expand your imagination!

Let's start with expanding your imagination. I learned this trick from Barbara and Susan at www.lawofattractionteleconference.com . They hosted the teleconference I participated in. When I am feeling stuck this exercise really helps me! Sometimes affirmations have a negative effect on me, if they don't "ring true," and I find I can "believe" them. My vision is limited sometimes, and although I know intellectually that I don't need to know the "how" of something manifesting... I have a difficult time buying into it emotionally. It's hard to "feel" when you can't believe... so I take baby steps to get myself "there" emotionally. This is so important because the emotional "feeling" component is vital to the manifesting process.

If I say: "My money arrives frequently and easily." A voice somewhere in my head may call me a liar, at first! To get around this I use a progressive affirmation and get there in steps.

I begin with:
"I am willing to believe in the possibility that my money arrives frequently and easily."

Comfortable with that?
Then it transforms into:
"I am willing to believe that my money arrives frequently and easily."

And finally:
My money arrives frequently and easily.

By the time I get to the last version my mind has envisioned and "bought into" the affirmation... so the negative self talk dissolves naturally.

When I'm feeling desperately "stuck", this tool works wonders: I take a piece of paper and fold it down the middle, making two columns. On one side I make a list of all the things that I don't want. On the other side I list the opposite, that is, the things I do want.
For example:

"I don't want to be drowning in debt" on one side, will get restated into a positive "I have more that enough money" on the other. Tear the column apart... shred or burn the column with the negative statements. The positive statements can be posted where you can see them or put in your journal to be reviewed often. Abundance Coach, Velma Gallant of Welcome Changes developed this tool. She refers to this as the Dump and Flip. That's exactly what's happening here... you are changing your focus, flipping it over, so to speak!

Another powerful tool is a vision board. It is a fact that most people are visually oriented. A picture is worth a thousand words! Make a vision board with pictures of your goals on it. It is also good to include things in your life that you are grateful for now! Gratitude is a powerful state to be in. Keep this board in your sight. I keep mine in my work area so it keeps me focused on what I'm accomplishing and why I'm working.

Watch "The Secret" for FREE!

I just bought a copy of "The Secret" Friday! Now I can watch it whenever I want on my 42" Plasma Flat Screen TV!!! Woo-hoo! If you would like to watch "The Secret" for FREE on your computer you can use this link: http://www.thesecretstory.com/Watch_The_Secret_(Orginal_Edition).html

I would also like to plan a "The Secret" day, similiar to the Workshop I attended last weekend! It was very beneficial & fun event with a Professional Coach, a massage therapist, a reflexology therapist --there was also an Arbonne Representative there...but absolutely NO PRESSURE to buy (or even look) at anything! (The products are very good -- they sell themselves!)

We participated in a "Getting Unstuck" workshop, followed by some wonderful pampering, a light lunch and a viewing of "The Secret." I would like to put together such a day for my friends! If you are interested let me know!

If you have not seen the movie yet, do yourself a favor and watch it ASAP! It is a 90 minute movie that could change your outlook on life! Share it with as many people as possible --the more people that are aware of "the Secret" the better -- for the world!

If this link becomes inoperable let me know and I will look for an updated link to post!

The Universe doesn’t care what you want, it’s only responding to what you’re interested in.**

This has been a fun week. You know how when you're buying a red car ... suddenly you see red cars everywhere? Well... I've been focused on personal growth and coaching... I wanted a coach, wanted to be a coach, needed a coach, ... you get the picture.

Last week after the Oprah show on "The Secret" I found a link to a teleconference law of attraction "coaching" session. It was free and I signed up. They asked for questions and if they like your question you might be an active participant in the teleconference (last Saturday). They liked my question! So now I ended up receiving a free coaching session on the phone last Saturday! It was very enlightening. My question was: "How to over come fear and anxiety once and for all and just go about attracting want you want in your life?" Several things came out and I learned a lot! Actually I learned about some of my limiting beliefs. When I finished the call I decided to hire a coach that I knew, someone who's helped me before...I realized that obviously my work with him was far from finished!

A woman my husband works with emailed me an invitation to a spa day that included a group work shop with a coach and I signed up for that. We have never really emailed back and forth before, so this was out of the blue! The Spa day was today and it was very good! We did a workshop about getting unstuck and I felt it was very beneficial and also confirmed that I need to get into that yoga class I've been contemplating! We finished the day by watching "The Secret."

Finally, while I was working last week I called a prospective advertiser back (I sell advertising) to see what type of business she had and what I could do for her... you guessed it... she is a coach and she trains other coaches... Now I'm not sure what, if anything will come from that encounter... but in all the years I've sold advertising I've never ended up in a conversation with a personal coach on promoting their business and developing other coaches.

Coincidence?...I think not! biggrin.gif

What's Impossible?

I spoke on the Law of Attraction at Toastmasters recently. I could have called the speech "What's Impossible?"... because for some reason that is where my focus ended up. As I was working on the speech it really hit home with me just how relative "impossible" really is.

Do you know that at one time it was impossible to go around the world? The world was believed to be flat and there was a fear that one could fall off! We laugh now, at this silliness, but at the time this was the conventional wisdom.

In the not so distant past it was impossible to fly, now not only do we have a multitude of daily flights all over the globe... we have gone a step beyond regular flight and sent man into outer space, to the moon, another impossibility!

Then there is the little matter of the 4 minute mile, a record that was impossible to break. Roger Bannister, a 25 year old British medical student broke the record on May 6th, 1954 with a 3 minute 59.4 second time. Then less than 6 weeks later Australian runner John Landy ran even faster with a 3 minute 57.9 second time and there have many others...the current record is now held by Moroccan runner Hicham El Guerrouj at 3min 43.13 seconds in Rome, Italy in 1999. Why is it that no one ever ran this fast but once the record was broken by one person many others were able to break it? Maybe because it was now perceived as possible!

I once worked for a company that had managers that told their salespeople that if they hadn't "tracked" in their sales at a certain rate that they would never reach their goal! They began managing with negativity and fear and now they keep missing goals and they don't understand why. The company I currently work for tells us to do our best and we will reach our goals... and guess what -- we do! It's in the same economic climate, and the goals are still steep... the difference is the attitude and the energy it creates!

The very best way to reach a goal is to focus on the goal and see yourself reaching it! Take inspired action and a positive energy will develop and the universe will conspire in your favor to enable you to reach your goal! Oh, and if you have any doubts or limiting beliefs about what's possible... read this post! Remember possible or impossible it's all relative!

Time Flies!

I have just returned from a great vacation in Florida! My only complaint was that I did not have Internet access and did not set myself up to do mobile blogging!

I do have to say that it was wonderful to miss the ice storm last week! We were happily basking in the beautiful sunny days of high 70's to 80's! I absorbed as much sunshine as I could! Now I am back in the cold, gray, icy north.

As I was running an early morning errand today, still half exhausted from my trip... all I could think was that I am grateful for last week and happy for now...even in this climate. It occurred to me that if one can be happy here then one can be happy anywhere! It was so easy to be happy in the beautiful weather with the warm, sweet sunshine! Here there is no sunshine, only clouds, snow, sleet, and biting cold. Yet I am happy....happy just to be, actually.... it certainly is not happiness because of the weather!

Aliens Abducted my Firefox??!!?!

I know this sounds crazy but a couple of weeks ago, my Mozilla Firefox stopped working on my desktop computer. I don't know why... I don't know what I did to make it go wacko...it just did. Basically it stopped working. My laptop was fine... no problem there, thankfully! I reverted back to Explorer, reluctantly, and limped along on my desktop. I stayed on the laptop most of the time, leaving the desktop to my son, home on break. Then today my home page changed and I asked my son why he changed it. He insisted he didn't touch it. Some site I never heard of was coming up as my home page...like using the explorer wasn't disorienting enough! So I thought I'd down load Firefox and try to fix it since now explorer was whacked out as well! It downloaded like lightening and pulled up my old home page and book marks instantly! I don't know how it did that... I just know that I'm grateful that it did! Finally, I can surf the net on the desktop and get to my bookmarks with out hassle!

Things I Want to Do (Have, Be) This Year

I want 2007 to be the year that I really connect to the Source and put the Law of Attraction to work in my life in a conscious way and to reap the rewards from doing so.
First of all... I want to blow away my goals in my position as an independent contractor. Second, I'm available for speaking engagements and putting together a book as well. Third I want to utilize my Reiki Master status and capabilities to create new Reiki Masters and promote healing of all who I come in contact with and with the earth as well. 2007 is the year I will maintain an attitude of gratitude. I will be an ambassador to goodwill, good vibrations, and healing to all. I will spread the word about how we can utilize the law of attraction to our benefit. I will expand my imagination, my awareness, and my power of intention.
Fun things I want to do...
I want to go to or have a spoon bending party! I read of Michael Crichton's account in his book Travels. I've read other accounts as well... apparently it is no big deal (once you've done it...) but I want to experience it! I would love to host such an event... has anyone had any experience with this? What was it like?
I want to travel...(speaking of Michael Crichton's book... Travels)... both physically and spiritually. For example: I want to go see NYC, since my son is living there - more about that later... I would like to go to a workshop for learning to see aura's.
I want to learn to knit good - my first project will be making Jeff a scarf...
ah yes.... and then of course there are the home projects... 2007 will be a time of renewal for our home... there are somethings we just can't put off any longer... a new bathroom tub... new sinks... and I would love new counters! Then there was that front loading washer and dryer we saw at Home Depot... =)

Stay Tuned...
